Got the email, but I am confused. You said a while back that it is no longer region restricted, but in the email it says "Your Xbox account must have its region set to North America." if this is the case, how can I change my XBL region? :3

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure all 10+ of my friends all chose the same factions. I'll have to look up info on the factions and see which one everyone would agree upon most. Is there a lobby system or do we have to get lucky to pair with friends? And I'm also assuming that if there is a lobby system we can only go into games as groups of 3 due to 3v3 combat.

Alright well then my crew will probably go for the darker colored side... I always like the darker color side and people will follow. lol. :) The lobby system is also great news as Brink was missing this crucial feature and it was a pain to play with friends... it is part of the reason it fell off the earth so quickly.

I really, really hope this is only for the beta. Our crew spent time discussing it and we thought it would be great to be able to play with and against each other. If this is only for the beta then that is perfectly understandable, but we would love to have private matches in the full game to be able to play competitively against each other or practice against each other. It can also help foster community tournaments and what not as well. I do understand that there is risk of splitting up the community, but private matches help more than they hurt in my opinion, especially when you are dealing with groups of friends playing together. Then again I'm biased towards my group. The idea did come up of rivalry "interclans" with our group split between the factions in the full game if we decide to get it. But for the beta I'm encouraging everyone to stay with the same faction.

External is just giving opinions and ideas, man, nothing to get worked up over. Thing is, he's (?) got a point, there are people who look for games that support private matches so they can play against friends. Yeah Exem is just giving them feedback, there is no need to accuse him of demanding. We are all here to give feedback and help the game improve. While this may be a beta the release is just around the corner so ensuring that we get our feedback in quickly and efficiently is important. Addressing concerns before the game is out can help save time when we have the game in our hands and have other issues to address. Learning from other games is what helps make newer games better.

Unlimited grenades with cool down is always awesome. No worrying about picking them up and a built in control to grenade spam. Can't wait to find my niche in the game... Halo was camo/sneaky player, ACV was fast CQC player, Transformer: WFC was a fast placed CQC Scientist or a camo back stabbing shottie scout, and Brink was fast paced sniper/recon intel player. Finding a slightly unique role for me to play in every game is important to me. :)

The release time is based off pacific time, so I don't think anybody will be getting in early. Unless you count the fact that people on the west coast will be getting it at 11, which will be 2 for me on the east coast, or 7 (I think) gmt....

If you are required to have a Gold US account, the above steps will not work, because changing the locale of your console has no bearing whatsoever on the accounts/profiles/gamertags.

Further clarification/reassurances would be appreciated. My friends & I have been anti****ting this game for some time now, and would be sorely disappointed to be left out, after being selected as beta candidates!

Changing your locale, then signing into Live still gives you the correct time for exactly where you are in the world, doesn't give you a US timezone. XBL knows where you are, lol!

Evidently you're not familiar with using numerous regional accounts on the one console. I have my main Australian account, a Japanese account, a US account, and a Canadian account I've used over the years for various region exclusive demos and promotions. It's got nothing to do with your ISP and Microsoft doesn't ban people for using varying regional accounts on the one console.

And the 1 month trial is still around. When making a brand new account, choosing not to buy a membership then brings you to the offer of the 1 month gold trial.

Look, I've been through stuff like this before. You can take my word for it even if you're a little skeptical.


This isn't a good way though, I want to play it on this account not have to make another account just to play a beta. My only hope is that there is another way and 5th Cell are just working through it with Xbox.

Generally with betas and demos, so long as it's on your console, any profile can play it.

For example: the Armored Core 5 demo was a Japan exclusive. I downloaded it on a Japanese account and was able to play it on my main Australian account no problem.

I recommend doing what others have said, make an email that is US, so get a US phonenumber and postcode. Then make a new account with that and get the 1 month trial, or use a 48 hour trial. You only need it to download then play on main account, like me ^^

Ive no qualms about using/creating a US account for this purpose, but just so you are aware: strictly speaking this is against the Xbox Live Terms of Use.
Its sad that poor communication has pushed anyone outside the US to having to do so.

Are you from the outside of the US? If so, then you need to make a US account by making a new US email, then make an account and use the code. You don't need gold to download the beta so download from the US Silver account and play on main. If you are from US, wait for a developer to reply.

Hello i just spoke to a guy from xbox support (new 360 owner) with regards to accessing the beta. Who said creating a false USA account was a grey area with it being against the T/Cs we agree to. Also it seems to be a badly implemented release across regions. I have the ghost recon beta and didnt need to change anything . Any advice would be great

No way to DOWNLOAD the Beta without a US account, you can play from any region though.

Is it possible to use someone elses fake account? It shouldn't matter right? But the thing is this beta is only meant to go out in limited quantities hence the beta codes. So I guess posting the username and password of the fake account is a big no no.

There is absolutely no way I am creating a yank account just to play a beta for this game. I was really looking forward to this but only NOW I find out I have to create a US account or be a member of the USA to play it?

Rubbish. Why can't you create the beta so it's accessible for all regions? What, are you bigoted? Yes, I am that sad enough just to create an account to complain. But if I wanted to play beta (like many other beta games that have regional access) then by all means, I would have liked to have had the game available to me. But no, I just have a code here that I can't use because I'm not a citizen of the god **** United States of America.

Geez dude, calm down a little. Everyone outside of the US was p i ssed (swear filter needs work, 5th Cell) when it was region locked (myself included), but evidently the ones that decided to move on with their lives, make a US account in 5 minutes and enjoy the game are considerably better than you in terms of character.

Calling 5th Cell bigots for not even knowing the full story just makes you look like an idiot. Honestly, the only image you convey is one of an angry, oppressed nutjob, when you could have just been civil and polite about the issue, but evidently the US did something to you to frustrate you to no end and get seriously mad over a game of all things.

The beta being a US exclusive is because the contents of the game have not been certified in other countries. For US it's ESRB and for Europe its PEGI. Its a legal issue.

It's funny that in the time it took Slinkyguy to register an account and type that post he could have created a US Xbox Account to download the beta.

I think about 50% if not more of people playing are not British as they took the initiative and minor amount of time to make a US account. Simple. If you really want to play it, then you would do that not moan like a little girl.
